An OBM helps out in Romania aka RickiT
Ricky Thakrar (2001-2005) visited the town of Comanesti in Romania with 33 other volunteers from the charity TEECH this August. Having collected aid throughout the year, they distributed items to a hospital, school for gypsies, orphanage and a day centre for students with special needs.
"It was great that we were able to work hard in the daytime and get to know one another in the evenings - sampling the various local liquors and watering holes along the way," said Ricky.
They also had the opportunity to begin refurbishing a fire-damaged computer room at the Foundation for Life Centre and install flushing toilets and running water to a home provided by the Mayor for those with nowhere else to live.
