Thank You

Dear Team As Project manager for this years Reparations (Fluent in Moldovan)  to the Scoala Speciale, in Jaloveni. I would like to thank you on behalf of the Trustees of Teech for your tremendous work ethos and your tolerance of, and acceptance of unfamiliar politics which delayed the Project Start and raised doubts as to our sense of purpose.

On a personal note, I am grateful for your resilience and dedication to our challenge and I have been impressed with the way that the Team as a whole have risen to this Challenge to Improve the conditions for the benefit of the Children at the School. It was clear from conversations with the Teaching and Management Staff and the behaviour of the cleaning and support workers that the end result was greatly appreciated by all concerned, especially the Director and Ivan the Terrible   (The Manager).

Despite the fact that we lost 3 Days at the beginning of the Project we managed to deliver more decorated & illuminated rooms than first envisaged and the end result was a pleasure to behold. The only downside to this years project was the shortage of skilled tradesmen, which put a great deal of pressure on some skills areas and as a result, we were not able to complete some aspects of the project in the reduced time available. It is difficult to single out individuals for commendation when skills and experience age and health are all factors in determining what we can deliver, the simple fact that we are all volunteers is a tribute in itself.Effort is the only measure of performance, and this has been clearly obvious in its abundanceI would like to recognise efforts the following

:Ø       The Trustees, in driving this Charity and obtaining (acquiring by devious means) goods and chattels for the benefit of the Target Communities and projects. Eddy & Cathy in particular

Ø       The Drivers for getting, people and aid to and from Moldova Safely by way of all imaginable ‘Pretty Routes’ (Including Dracula’s Castle’)

Ø       The Team for their effort in delivering the objectives of the project against tight timescales and adverse conditions (Despite the Luxurious living conditions).

Ø       The Skilled people for delivering the build whilst teaching & guiding the unskilled, and the unskilled for attempting to try out and develop new skills).

Ø       Nigella Chocolate Cooke (Colleen, Breda, and Sally) for ‘on site’ catering.

Ø       The Design Team for the Artwork and enhancement of the BedroomsFrom a social and work perspective, the Team has been excellent It has been a pleasure to get to know and work with you all.

 Highlights from this years show

Last year Vic arranged to have his Tools kidnapped for the duration of the trip, only to be returned on the final day when all the work was complete. This year we managed to have all of the Tools, 2 Trucks and 4 People and all of the Aid Kidnapped.

Kingsley despite constant advice and direction from his mentor (Big Yin) managed to filch and dissect the Toilet Partitions painstakingly prepared by Kevin and I, for use as kindling (Boxing) in the preparation of the basement Toilets. Kingsley is now affectionately known as “Woody” (Nick a Block of Woody).Ian (Big Yin) suffered with constant back ache whilst mentoring Kingsley and it was agreed that for subsequent projects he will be provided with a higher chair and stronger Velcro.

Joe is suffering from the delayed effects of Man Gel. This condition should improve when Dawn Breaks and stiffness subsides..Water, Washing  and Toilet facilities proved to be a rare commodity in Jaloveni and the Team must be congratulated for their tolerance and acceptance of the poor sanitary conditions. But in reality, this is why we are in this country trying to help improve conditions for the benefit if the children and community.

Next Year

Details of next years project have not been confirmed but whatever the outcome, there will be a need for volunteers for next years mission and we would be grateful for your ongoing support

 Feedback on Lessons Learned

We need to capture lessons learned from this event to help us to identify a more effective plan for next year. I will be grateful for constructive feedback on what we think we did well and where you think we could do better. I would be grateful for your comments on how you think we can improve the experience for all.

Kind Regards Malcolm
