2010 Project & News

BT @ Adastral Park started the Christmas 2010 season with a hugely successful charity market. Over 36 local and national charities were represented raising over £4,000 for good causes. A few TEECH volunteers attended the event and provided a stall selling cakes and 'Bonny Bags' were sold to help raise funds and awareness for TEECH. Below are some photo's which were taken on the day.

monkeyworldTEECH were recently donated some medical supplies including a large quantity of Calpol from a hospital in Ipswich, unfortunately the medicine had past its used by date which meant we were unable to take it with us.

By chance one of our supporters mentioned that Monkey World in Dorset accept out of date medicine for their animals. The Calpol was promptly shipped to them and we have received a thank you from 'Sally and the boys'!

Misson to Moldova (extract taken from article in CSD Exchange newsletter July 2010)

Between 13 and 28 August 2010, Tony Minter will travel with fellow volunteers from TEECH to Moldova where they will help install running water in a summer camp for orphans and deliver much needed aid.

Although Tony and his wife, Gail, have always found time to help charitable causes this is a big undertaking and a totally new experience for Tony. His family, though are right behind him with his parents business (Conkers of Felixstowe) co-funding the sponsorship alongside a contribution from CSD.

Tony knows it won’t be easy – it takes 3 days to travel to Moldova by minibus with volunteers sleeping on the minibus to save costs and when they arrive, accommodation for the duration of their stay will be basic, but from what others have told him it is a life changing experience.

TEECH are holding a Masquerade Ball & Charity Auction at Clacton on Sea Golf Club on Saturday 5th June 2010.
