TEECH is a UK registered charity which takes aid & runs projects in Eastern Europe.

TEECH stands for Telecoms Eastern European Challenge

Every year the TEECH trustees visit possible projects and decide which would best benefit from our help and how we can make them self sufficient (our ultimate goal).

TEECH 2010 Project is to help an Orphanage and School in Falesti in northern Moldova

A team of approx 30-40 volunteers armed with tools and donations will be travelling for 3 days and nights to reach Falesti at the end of August (dates to be confirmed) and set to work cleaning, plumbing (for toilets and showers), electrical work (lights, plugs and wiring) and a massive amount of painting (walls, door frames, cartoon pictures) and general DIY such as renewing doors, windows and walls.  Another part of the project is to provide much needed aid drops to various other orphanages and schools, hospitals and old people homes in the area.

TEECH welcomes new and existing volunteers to join them on the trip which a contribution of £500 is required to cover your traveling, accommodation and food (whilst on location only).

Volunteers can raise the money via donations (Justgiving) and holding events such as a Masquerade Ball (held at St Elizabeth Hotel, Copdock Ipswich), 70's & 80's Disco (to be held on 13th March 2010 at Bourne Vale Social Club, Ipswich). TEECH volunteers also spend the rest of the year collecting donated items (new and used) and acquiring items which have been requested for the project (wishlist).

TEECH un-officially·started in 1998 when a group of people who worked together at bt-tiny took up the challenge from a work colleague to help repair two hospitals in Bucharest, Romania's capital. About 50 volunteers under the banner of BTL Aid spent a two week period in August and set about painting, plastering, adding lighting and generally making the two hospitals a cleaner, safer and brighter place.

Flushed with the success of this trip but seeing the need to be more structured, we organised ourselves into a proper registered charity and TEECH was born. We kept "Telecom's" in our name as we continue to receive generous sponsorship from bt-tiny and many of our volunteers still work for the company although we remain a non-BT organisation and totally independent.

Our members are all unpaid volunteers so 100% of our·donations go to the daily runnings of the charity and the projects we support. Help support TEECH and the work we do by DONATING via JustGiving - Quick, Easy Credit/Debit card payment. Please help us continue making a difference and DONATE or joining our charity.
